Computer controls:

  • Arrow keys / WASD to move
  • X / space / return for actions
  • Z to undo
  • R to restart

Mobile controls:

  • Swipe in a direction to move
  • Tap for actions
  • Menu buttons to undo/restart

How to use the rescale mechanic:

  • Move the cursor to an object that can be expanded (ground, sky, etc).
  • Press the action key to lock the target
  • Use arrow keys to choose an expansion direction
  • Press the action key again to expand.

Really interesting! I felt like more puzzle potential would open up if the scaling is less limited than it is now, or the 'glitch' could be useful in some way. But I'm not a puzzle designer in any way, so don't take my word for it haha

I added a new mechanic in the last update, still the same scaling but with a little twist :) The point of the "glitch" is mostly to restrict how the level can be modified and prevent too easy solutions.

i loved the mechanics, a fun and engaging experience the pixel art style is ok  also nice puzzles was so fun.

Great game but way too hard for me )) I think It could be expanded in the full game but If you decide to go that route I would suggest watching a lecture by Patrick's Parabox creator about systemic puzzle design if you have not already :) 

My friend keeps telling me about Patrick's Parabox, I should play it and watch the GDC talk. :)

I'll consider adding some intermediate levels after the jam, and maybe a few more at the end that push the difficulty even further.

Glad to hear that you are going to continue the development. But further? )) And yeah, Patrick's Parabox is an amazing game and great example of well balanced puzzle design.

I don't understand how to get up...

You can't jump and you can't lift yourself up with the scaling thing so how do you get up?...

Indeed you cannot jump, and you cannot lift yourself with the scaling mechanic, so the only way to get up is to climb the walls in light brown.

and you can't scale things down? So how do you get past level 2?

You can scale up the sky to make other tiles disappear ;)

Brilliant design! The last level especially was a banger. I think 11 might have some unintended overly simplistic solutions, but understandable when the core mechanic insists I screw with the level design ;)

Thanks! If you have found any hacks in level 11 I'd be interested to hear about it to make a patch. Hack = any solution that does not require piling up the 3 boulders.

v peculiar! I definitely cheesed it when I played it last night by walking off the castle on to the flag area without having to use any of the boulders, but now I'm trying again it seems impossible to do so?
